Environmental Health and Safety

Ashland University Environmental Health & Safety Policy Statement

The safety policy of Ashland University is based on the conviction that the well being of our employees is our first consideration. Providing a safe place of employment for all employees is a top priority.
Responsibility for the administration of our safety policy is a function of the vice-presidents, deans, directors and the entire supervisory workforce. This includes the development of safety programs, promotion of safety education, job training and correction of conditions that could lead to accidents or injuries.
Each employee must also recognize and accept his/her own personal responsibility for safety. This includes complying with all safety rules, proper use of safety devices and personal protective equipment, offering constructive suggestions for plant safety improvement and full cooperation and support for all safety programs.
I am requesting your full cooperation and pledging my support to: developing new and better programs; making these programs a reality in our daily work operations; and developing a work atmosphere where safety is a standard operating procedure.
I sincerely hope that you will join me in devoting serious attention to making safety an integral part of your day-to-day operations. Practicing safety on a daily basis is the only sure way to create, develop and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
