The Gilman Scholarship program enables students who are receiving Federal Pell grant funding to participate in study or intern abroad programs worldwide.
Boren Scholarships and Fellowship
NSEP awards Boren Scholarships and Fellowships to America's future leaders - undergraduate and graduate students committed to long-term, overseas immersive language study and to public service. Boren Scholars and Fellows receive funding (up to $20,000 for Scholars and $24,000 for Fellows) to study the languages and cultures most critical to our nation's security. In exchange, they agree to utilize those skills within the government by seeking and securing federal employment for at least one year. Fulbright Canada
Traditional Fulbright Canada Student awards are intended for American citizens who are graduate students, prospective graduate students, or promising young professionals who wish to study and/or conduct research in Canada. Awards may be held at any university, research center, think tank, or government agency in Canada. Application deadline: October.
Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF)
Fellows receive a $6,350 award for a ten-week period to conduct research on the campus of Caltech under the guidance of experienced mentors working at the frontier of their fields. Deadline: February

Critical Languages Scholarship
Sponsored by the Department of State, the Critical Languages Scholarship program offers a fully-funded overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students, with the goal of broadening the base of Americans studying and mastering critical languages and building relationships between the people of the U.S. and other countries. Fulbright Scholarship
The Fullbright U.S. Student Program provides full research grants for graduate study in more than 140 countries. Five Types of awards: Study/Research Awards, English Teaching Assistantships, Fulbright National Geographic Storytelling Felowships, Critical Language Enhancement Awards, and Fulbright-Fogarty Awards in Public Health. The Morris K. Udall Scholarship awards merit-based scholarships to outstanding students who intend to pursue careers related to the environment, or Native American Health Care and Policy. Application deadline: March
Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship
The Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship program recruits and prepares the nation's best and brightest recent graduates and career changers with STEM backgrounds to teach in middle and high school science and math classrooms. It also works with university partners to change the way these top teacher candidates are prepared, focusing on an intensive full-year experience in local classrooms and rigorous academic work. Oxford and Rhodes Scholarships
The oldest international fellowships, the Rhodes Scholarship brings outstanding students from many countries around the world to the University of Oxford. Deadline: first Wednesday in October.
Harry S. Truman Scholarship

David Putter Scholarship Fund

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation created Dell Scholars to recognize and assist an underserved population—students in the academic middle from low-income households who are often among the first in their families to attend college. Radio Television Digital News Foundation Scholarships
Scholarships are open to undergraduate students pursuing careers in radio, television, or digital journalism. Winners must be officially enrolled, full-time sophomores, juniors or seniors in good standing when scholarships are awarded. Application Deadline: January
Gates Cambridge Scholarship
Gates Cambridge will offers full-cost scholarships to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. NOAA Hollings Scholarship
NOAA's Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship recognizes outstanding students studying in NOAA mission fields. Student scholars receive up to $9,500 per academic year to support their studies, as well as paid summer internship opportunities at NOAA facilities across the US. Sophomore status required. Princeton-in-Asia Fellowship
Princeton in Asia offers 140 service-oriented fellowships and internships in 22 countries and regions with Asian host organizations that contribute to important global issues at the local level: education, public health, environmental sustainability, access to information/media, economic development and social justice. PiA fellowships are open to recent graduates or graduating seniors from all accredited U.S. colleges and universities. Application Deadline: November
Rangel Fellowship
The Rangel Program is a U.S. State Department program administered by Howard University that seeks to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers as diplomats in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. The program seeks individuals interested in helping to shape a freer, more secure and prosperous world through formulating, representing, and implementing U.S. foreign policy. The Program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need. Application Deadline: September
Churchill Scholarship
The Churchill Scholarship is for one year of study at the University of Cambridge for one of two Master’s degrees: the MPhil (Master of Philosophy) or MASt (Master of Advanced Study). The standard MPhil is a research degree that entails full-time research in a lab and culminates in a thesis and a viva (an oral examination). The MASt is a taught degree course comprised of lectures and written examinations. Application Deadline: November
DAAD Scholarships
Highly qualified final year undergraduate students or those who have received an undergraduate degree of all disciplines may apply for the DAAD Study Scholarship for a full Master's degree program at a German university or for study at a German university as part of a postgraduate or Master's degree program completed in the home country.
