Reserves

Archer Library has traditional course reserves (books, DVDs, or music CDs) available for faculty use. These items are located at the library circulation desk, main floor. Instructors placing items on reserve determine length of the reserve period, hours or days, and whether the item may leave the library.

General Reserves:  Books & Media

Faculty may place Library-owned copies of books and DVDs on reserve. Faculty may also place personal copies of books and other materials on reserve to be used by students. Physical works lent to the library will be marked with identification and circulation labels. Archer Library is not liable for damage to of loss of such works. Per fair use guidelines, a small portion of books may be digitized for student use upon instructor request.

Books & media on reserve are shelved at the Circulation Desk. Faculty may choose from the following loan periods:

  • One hour (in-library use only)
  • Three hours (in-library use only)
  • One day (may leave library)
  • Three days (may leave library)
  • Seven days (may leave library)

All general reserve materials are to be returned to the Circulation Desk.

 

Looking for reserves in the library catalog?

General reserves are available in the library catalog;  search holdings by course or instructor.

 

GENERAL RESERVES:  FINES

Items in the general reserve collection are subject to late fines as follows:

  • Hourly reserves:  50¢ per hour
  • Daily reserves:  50¢ per day

The replacement fee for lost reserve items is the cost of the item plus a processing fee.
