Pre-Professional Science
As a pre-professional sciences student at Ashland University, you’re taken on a journey, one that starts your freshman year. We'll take you out of the classroom and into the field. We’ll expose you to academics unlike any other. We'll prepare you to be among the 90 percent of our students that are accepted into professional health programs after graduation. We’ll connect you with accomplished faculty who don’t just teach science – they live it. They conduct research. They make discoveries. And they take you with them each step of the way.
You will have opportunities to present, connect and network with other students, faculty, alumni and professionals in your chosen field. You will gain invaluable hands-on experiences, which for two Ashland University students in the past two years included admission into the prestigious Chester Scholars summer program at Metro Health Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. You will be surrounded by professors and mentors invested in your future who will help you prepare for advanced degrees and/or exciting careers, because we know your journey won’t end here. We know Ashland is just the beginning.

Recommended majors for pre-professional programs include biology, biochemistry, chemistry and toxicology. These majors will give you the flexibility to apply to professional programs, graduate programs or to gain employment immediately following graduation.
