Any Medium. Any Message.

The Writing and Communication Center (WCC) has expanded services to include help not only with your writing, but also with project presentations, speeches, group projects and presentations, poster presentations, and other digital communication assignments. In other words, we can help you with any project that involves communication whether that communication is written, visual, verbal, digital, or a combination of mediums.

Process Approach

At the WCC, we approach communication as a process, not just an end product. This means that you don’t have to wait until you have a finished product to come to the WCC for help. When you come in for an appointment, our coaches will work with you to figure out where you are in your writing, communication, and/or design process.

If you’re just getting started, we can help you think out loud about your project, brainstorm ideas, and just generally discuss your approach to the assignment. Maybe you already know what you want to communicate, but you need help figuring out how to communicate it. We can talk through organizational strategies or the benefits and drawbacks of different genres or modes of communication. If you’re further along in the process, we can provide audience feedback on a draft or as you practice your presentation.

Scheduling an Appointment

We use the WCOnline scheduler for all of our appointments. Click on https://ashland.mywconline.com to sign-up for an available time. If this is your first time making an appointment through WCOnline, you will need to register for an account. Having trouble? Email writingcenter@ashland.edu.
