What to Expect in the Fine Art Program

By joining one of our BA or BFA programs, you’ll learn how to:

  • Explore art-making techniques

  • Solve problems creatively

  • Build your technical skills

All Ashland University art classes are purposely kept small, so you can benefit from one-on-one attention from each of your professors. You’ll begin by taking fundamental classes including introductory drawing, design, and art history (also called the Art Foundations Sequence). You’ll then take upper-level courses to allow you to explore a range of media and creative ideas that will advance your skill as an artist and help you hone your skills of critical analysis.
