Why Should a Student Pursue this Degree?

The Homeland Security program is designed for those who want to work on the front lines and be involved with emergencies as they happen. People who excel in this field aren’t averse to confronting a disaster directly.

This program will give you the tools required to succeed as you serve others behind the scenes and in hands-on contexts. That could be working in counter intelligence for the FBI or taking the knowledge gained in the workforce and applying it to a new career path with FEMA or in corporate security.

Why Should a Student Choose Ashland University for this Program?

The flexible Homeland Security program is tailored to fit individual scheduling. It’s designed to be agile in preparing students for the current realities of a career. Students emerge with the tools and knowledge required to be effective on the job from the first day forward. Students will gain the skills to work within the four primary security factor contexts: border, transportation, environmental and infrastructure. The program prepares students for success by teaching students how to fulfill roles within the various Homeland Security sectors.

Industry Statistics

The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 240,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response.
