Do you have a passion for teaching and want to introduce young minds to the wonders of science? Ashland University’s teacher-training program is highly regarded as one of the best in Ohio. When you graduate with a degree in any of our science education majors, you’ll be licensed to teach grades 7-12 and can expect to obtain a teaching position following graduation.

What to Expect in the Science Education Program

You’ll take a variety of science courses to prepare you with the diverse scientific knowledge you’ll need to teach students. You’ll also be placed in the middle or high school classroom as an observer as early as your freshman year, gradually increasing your time in the classroom each year. Your senior year student teaching experience will culminate all of your field experience for firsthand preparation as a science education teacher.
