At Ashland University, we believe in enhancing the student experience by providing ongoing opportunities to help each student learn and grow as a future professional.
The Ford Lecture Series, created and sponsored by Ashland University alumni Dr. Peter and Kathleen Linneman, is an annual lecture and luncheon inspired by Larry and Lucille Ford and hosted by the Dauch College of Business. It’s meant to enrich business education at Ashland University by bringing extraordinary business leaders to campus to discuss their business and life philosophies.
The Linnemans hope that by bringing extraordinary business leaders to Ashland University each year, all students will be inspired to achieve more than they have dreamed possible.
Dr. Lucille Ford
Dr. Ford is perhaps best known as a trailblazer. A university educator, author, administrator, nationally known economist and lecturer, political activist, and community leader, she has set the stage for women nationwide in a number of arenas. She was the first woman to run for Lt. Governor of Ohio and served on five major public company boards. Among her many recognitions and honors, she was inducted into the Ohio Women’s Hall of Fame, as well as the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame. She served as a faculty member, dean, provost, and board member at Ashland University and led the highly successful Ashland County Community Foundation. Today, she remains fully engaged with the Ashland community and the world, and the annual Ford Lecture Series is dedicated to her and her husband Larry.
