Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

Over the last ten years, Ohio’s percentage of EL students has doubled to approximately 60,000 students.

These students represent more than 110 different native or home languages. How well prepared are you to meet the learning needs of this growing population of students?

Is this program for you?

  • You want to gain the instructional knowledge, assessment skills and understanding to more effectively address the needs of English language learners in your classroom.

  • You need to prepare yourself for the increasing cultural and linguistic diversity associated with teaching and learning in today’s classrooms.

  • You want opportunities to have a positive, lasting impact on the lives of immigrant and native-born children and youth.

The 15-hour TESOL Endorsement program is designed to be completed in one year or less and can be added to any Ohio license.
