Our History

In the Fall of 2012, Ashland University’s College of Nursing merged with the newly formed Department of Health Sciences to form the Schar College of Nursing & Health Sciences. Health Sciences was created by merging the Athletic Training and Exercise Science majors as well as the Lifetime Wellness course and Therapeutic Recreation minor from the Department of Sport Sciences in the Dwight Schar College of Education with Dietetics, formerly in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences.
