  • I'm an instructor and need help! 

You can visit our adjunct information page by clicking here. You will find instructions on everything from applying to become a Professional Development adjunct to posting final grades. 

  • When I complete my course, will I automatically receive notification or a transcript?

When you complete a course, you can use Self Service Ashland to see when the instructor has posted the final grades (usually within 5 days of completion). At that point, you can order an official transcript from our Records and Registration office. THERE IS A FEE FOR TRANSCRIPTS.

  • How do I request my transcript?

Transcripts are requested through the Office of Records and Registration. Click here to be directed to their webpage. Please note: the transcript will be sent even if the grade has not been posted. Please make sure to check your grades using Self Service Ashland.

  • How do I see what courses I am registered for or check my grades?

Ashland University PD students will have access to their student account once they register for a course. Students can use the portal to view their courses, their grades, print account statements and grade reports. Click here for instructions on setting up your login. Please know, access to the portal ends after 120 days past the end date of your last course. 

  • What if my grade isn't showing when I check the portal?

If you do not see a grade posted, but you feel it should be, please contact your instructor for your course. If you do not have contact information for the instructor, feel free to email us at pds@ashland.edu for help. 

  • How do I print a receipt for my course?

Ashland University PD students will have access to their student account once they register for a course.   • How do I update my name or address with the University?

If you would like to update your name on record with AU, you can click here to find the form. It is an online submission and you will be asked to upload document proof, such as a copy of your updated driver's license. Other changes to your contact information can be made in the student portal. 

  • What is your policy on refunds?

With a letter of permission from the instructor and/or director, a class can be dropped with a refund within 3 days following initial registration. After 3 days, tuition is non-refundable.

  • What is the grading system for PD?

Most Professional Development Services class for graduate credit will be graded: S= Satisfactory (equivalent of B- or better) / U = Unsatisfactory (equivalent of C+ or lower)

  • I have a professional 5-year license that I need to renew but I am not currently employed by a school district.  Can I use Ashland graduate credit to renew?

    According to the ODE web site, for individuals not currently employed in an Ohio public school district, chartered non-public school or community school, need to complete 6 semester hours or 9 quarter hours of coursework relevant to classroom teaching and/or an area of licensure since the issuance of the license to be renewed.  All of the courses offered through Ashland's Professional Development Services are relevant to classroom teaching.

  • Do I have to enroll through Ashland's Admission office?

Ashland's Professional Development Services has their own admission process.  By completing the Ashland PDS registration form or online registration process, an account will be created for you if you are not already a PDS student.

  • How many graduate credits are PDS classes worth?

PDS offers 1, 2, and 3 hour graduate classes for your renewal needs. 1 hour of graduate credit = 3 CEUs

  • My license has expired. How many hours do I need?

Coursework needs to be completed prior to September 1 of the year of expiration of the license to be renewed or the renewal requirement increases to 9 semester hours.

  • Where can I find more information on Ohio licensing?
