EC: TYPICAL & ATYPICAL DEVE

Welcome to Early Childhood:  Typical and Atypical Development, an interactive distance learning course which explores contemporary best practice and perspective on early childhood development.  Content includes patterns and sequences of typical development for children from birth to six years.  Emphasis is on individual differences, cultural influences, and the impact of development delay and disability during infancy, toddlerhood, and the preschool years.  Discussion will also include instructional technology (IT) and assistance technology (AT) applications for this population.  

ADDITIONAL NOTES: 

All VESi courses receive letter grades.  Please see Course Syllabus Addendum for grading information.  All VESi courses are tablet compatible! 

There is a two week minimum for course completion. For your maximum time, Ashland's academic calendar is September 1st through August 31st each year and you are required to complete your course within that academic calendar. Also, please be certain to refer to the attachments that are sent with your course link(s) as those items contain important information regarding exam score and essay requirements. 

 Within 24-48 hours of your registration you will receive an email from your course content provider that contains your course access information. 

Also within 24 hours of registering for a PD course, you'll be able to access your student account using Self-Service Ashland. There, you'll find printable financial statements and grade reports, plus a link for requesting transcripts, once your grades have posted. Instructions for establishing or resetting your login can be found HERE.

Please click HERE for a registration form. Please mail that along with your payment and/or voucher to the Main Campus address. Vouchers are worth $166 when applied to PD courses.
