Access to the General Curriculum

What does it mean for ALL learners to access the general curriculum in tier 1 as part of a MTSS model? Teachers must be able to utilize the strategies grounded in research to provide access for all learners in implementing rigorous instruction in a reading model that supports the tenants of Ohio’s Plan to Raise Literacy and the implementation of structured literacy. This course will yield a knowledge and skill set for leaders and teachers to re-imagine a reading model in tier 1 supported by OLAC tools and the content in the OCALI modules. Join this mini-study that will support the general education and special education collaborative model to improve student outcomes for ALL students through the lens of access! There are a variety of projects/responses to support your professional development. During the first zoom meet, participants will be shown course project choices and content modules. Certificates for LPDC (no AU graduate credit option) are also available if you contact the instructor by email for instructions. 

****Participants need to email the instructor, Carrie Wood, at wood.caw@gmail.com to access the module work, resources and first introductory zoom session (6pm-7pm on various dates) included in the directions after you contact the instructor.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: 

Within 24 hours of registering for a PD course, you'll be able to access your student account using Self-Service Ashland. There, you'll find printable financial statements and grade reports, plus a link for requesting transcripts, once your grades have posted.
