Rigorous Curriculum Gifted (1CR)

This course will help educators teach gifted students. We will focus on how to provide stimulating environments while addressing the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social needs of the gifted child within the curriculum. We will examine what rigor means within a curriculum and how ‘close’ reading and timed writing can enhance a gifted mind and allow students to (at times) move quickly through the required curriculum content and onto more advanced material, allowing for academic rigor.
