PLTW: Comp Science Principles Part I (2cr)

Computer Science Principles – Part I Educator Training prepares high school teachers to deliver the first half of PLTW’s Computer Science Principles course, which offers a broad, project-based introduction to the foundational concepts of computer science. Aligned with AP® Computer Science Principles standards, this training introduces educators to data analysis, algorithms, abstraction, and the societal impacts of computing while integrating hands-on programming with real-world problem solving. Teachers gain experience with block- and text-based programming tools (such as App Inventor and Python), explore inquiry-based learning strategies, and learn to guide students in creating digital artifacts and conducting computational research. 

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion. 

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to cbasinge@ashland.edu.
