Sponsor: AU Columbus Center
Center Offered: Columbus Professional Dev

Course Description:

PLTW Gateway is a dynamic, hands-on professional development experience that prepares middle school educators to implement engaging, project-based learning units in STEM education. Over the course of three days, participants explore the interdisciplinary PLTW Gateway modules—such as Design & Modeling, Automation & Robotics, App Creators, and Medical Detectives—through immersive, practical activities. This training equips teachers with the skills to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation in students while aligning instruction to career pathways and real-world applications. Educators will leave with actionable strategies, curriculum tools, and increased confidence to deliver meaningful STEM learning experiences in grades 6–8.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
