Course Description:

Biomedical Innovation – Part I Educator Training prepares teachers to lead the first half of the PLTW Biomedical Innovation course, which is designed as the culminating experience for students in the PLTW Biomedical Science pathway. This training introduces educators to the structure and goals of the course, emphasizing student-led problem solving, experimental design, and real-world biomedical challenges. Teachers explore strategies to guide students through independent research, develop essential inquiry and lab supervision skills, and facilitate the development of innovative solutions to pressing biomedical issues. This course builds confidence in managing flexible, open-ended classroom environments where students take ownership of learning.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
