Course Description:

Biomedical Innovation – Part II Educator Training prepares high school educators to guide students through the culminating phase of PLTW’s Biomedical Innovation course. Building on foundational inquiry from Part I, this training focuses on developing, prototyping, evaluating, and presenting student-designed biomedical solutions. Teachers learn how to support students in using iterative design processes, incorporating feedback from mentors, and applying ethical and scientific principles to refine their innovations. Emphasis is placed on facilitating student independence, overseeing rigorous documentation, and guiding final presentations that mimic professional scientific communication.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
