Course Description:

PLTW Capstone – Part I Educator Training prepares educators to facilitate the initial phase of PLTW’s senior-level capstone course. This phase emphasizes helping students identify authentic, real-world problems, conduct background research, define project goals, and begin initial exploration of solutions. Educators learn how to support students in project-based inquiry, engage community mentors, and manage open-ended learning environments. The training equips teachers with strategies to foster independence, critical thinking, and professional communication from the very beginning of the capstone process.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
