Course Description:

PLTW Computer Science – Part I Educator Training prepares teachers to deliver the first half of PLTW’s introductory computer science curriculum. This training introduces foundational programming skills, problem-solving strategies, and computational thinking practices. Educators gain hands-on experience with block-based and text-based programming languages (such as Python or JavaScript), explore real-world computing applications, and practice guiding students through creative, inquiry-driven coding projects. Teachers also learn how to integrate PLTW's curriculum, manage classroom technology, and foster inclusive participation in computer science.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
