Course Description:

PLTW Computer Science – Part II Educator Training builds on foundational programming and instructional practices developed in Part I. In this advanced segment, educators explore modular programming, functions, data structures, cybersecurity concepts, and final project implementation. Teachers deepen their content knowledge in Python, JavaScript, or other PLTW-supported languages while practicing the facilitation of student-driven projects. The training also emphasizes strategies for debugging complex programs, managing collaborative coding, and supporting algorithmic thinking at higher levels. Educators leave prepared to guide students through advanced computing challenges and real-world applications of computer science.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
