Course Description:
The job responsibilities of a Special Education/Student Services administrator are complex and varied dependent on the typology of the school district and the obligations of the office, which could federal/state rules, licensure requirements, parental interactions, recruitment of personnel, negotiations, and developing the professional skills of co-workers. The pupil services administrator must be knowledgeable of the complexities of special needs and the ability to create programming and services of which students with disabilities are eligible to receive and the district is responsible to provide under the law. For the 1 semester class, the professional must attend 3 od the 4 full days of conferences during the 2025-26 school year, For the 2- credit course, the professional must attend all 4 conference days. At the conclusion of the conferences, once exposure to experts and colleagues is complete a short, professionally written descriptive paper on applications of learning of each experience and how it will be applied in their education entity is required.
Registration to OAPSA Conferences are required and in addition to Ashland Credit. Click here for conference information.
