PLTW Cybersecurity Pt I (3CR)
Course Description:
Cybersecurity – Part I Educator Training prepares high school teachers to deliver the first half of PLTW’s Cybersecurity course, which introduces students to the foundational principles
of digital security, data protection, and ethical computing. Educators gain hands-on experience in topics such as digital citizenship, system vulnerabilities, cryptography, and authentication protocols. Through guided activities and simulations, teachers learn to help students think critically about how to secure digital systems, protect personal and organizational data, and understand the societal impact of cybersecurity. This training emphasizes inquiry-based learning, collaboration, and ethical problem-solving.
Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.
To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
