Course Description:

PLTW Engineering Essentials – Part II Educator Training prepares high school educators to deliver the second half of the PLTW Engineering Essentials course, which focuses on advanced applications of the engineering design process and deeper exploration of engineering disciplines. Educators engage in complex, real-world challenges related to transportation, health, energy, and sustainability—mirroring the student experience. This training helps teachers deepen their ability to support interdisciplinary, project-based learning by integrating digital tools, facilitating technical analysis, and guiding students through collaborative design refinement and presentation. Teachers also learn to scaffold capstone-style design experiences and assess student progress through engineering portfolios and presentations.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
