PLTW Intro to Engineering Design Pt II (2CR)
Course Description:
Introduction to Engineering Design – Part II Educator Training prepares teachers to deliver the second half of PLTW’s foundational high school engineering course, focusing on advanced design concepts, reverse engineering, data analysis, 3D modeling, and design presentations. Building upon the engineering design process introduced in Part I, this training emphasizes CAD proficiency, functional prototyping, and systems-level thinking. Educators complete complex design challenges, refine instructional strategies, and explore how to guide students through long-term projects that simulate real-world engineering practices. This training also supports teachers in using student portfolios, presentations, and design documentation for assessment and reflection.
Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.
To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
