Course Description:

Medical Interventions – Part I Educator Training prepares educators to teach the first half of the PLTW Medical Interventions course, the third course in the PLTW Biomedical Science sequence. This course explores how scientists and healthcare professionals prevent, diagnose, and treat disease. In Part I, teachers focus on infectious diseases, diagnostic tools, treatment strategies, and genetic testing. Educators gain experience with lab-based investigations, bioinformatics tools, and simulated patient cases while learning how to guide students through real-world problem solving in medical biotechnology.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
