Course Description:

PLTW Algebra 1 Advantage Educator Training prepares teachers to implement PLTW’s Algebra 1 Advantage curriculum—a program designed to enhance traditional Algebra 1 instruction through real-world, project-based learning that integrates STEM contexts and hands-on problem solving. This training equips educators to shift from procedural math instruction to student-centered learning by connecting algebraic concepts to applications in engineering, science, and technology. Teachers experience the curriculum from the student perspective and develop strategies for facilitating engagement, collaboration, and critical thinking in math classrooms.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to ckessler@ashland.edu.
