College Credit Plus
is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students. Accepted students may take courses on the AU main campus, online, or at one of our partnering high schools!

To participate in CCP at AU:
- Submit the Letter of Intent by April 1st to your school counselor if you are a public school student.
- Complete AU's online application before MAY 15th (for fall semester start).
- Ask your school counselor to send your HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT to au-transcripts@ashland.edu. (Your school won't know to send us your transcript unless you ask them.)

- IMPORTANT: USE YOUR PERSONAL/"HOME" EMAIL ADDRESS WHEN APPLYING. DO NOT ENTER A HIGH SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESS. Many schools' network settings block messages from outside parties. As a result, you may never receive your acceptance letter with registration instructions if you enter your high school email address. If you haven't heard from us in 2-3 weeks, please contact us (collegecreditplus@ashland.edu), as we are likely missing information necessary to make a decision. Please double-check that your acceptance letter did not go to your spam folder.
DISCLAIMER: The subject matter of a course enrolled in under the college credit plus program may include mature subject matter or materials, including those of a graphic, explicit, violent, or sexual nature, that will not be modified based upon college credit plus enrollee participation regardless of where course instruction occurs. Please contact the CCP program manager, collegecreditplus@ashland.edu, if you have concerns about the mature content of a course and would like to request a course materials review.
Application deadlines for PUBLIC SCHOOL students:
- Summer Term - March 1st
- Fall Semester - May 15th
- Spring Semester - October 15th
For HOME-SCHOOLED and NON-PUBLIC SCHOOL students:
The deadline to submit your AU CCP application is March 1st.
The funding application period for homeschooled and nonpublic students opens on February 1st. The deadline to submit your funding application to the State of Ohio, using your OH | ID account is April 1st.
You must include your college acceptance letter as part of the state application!! Please plan well in advance of the deadlines to ensure you have ample time to receive and upload your acceptance letter to your OH | ID account. The State of Ohio does not accept late applications.
Be sure to email your transcript and test scores to collegecreditplus@ashland.edu BEFORE the March 1st deadline.

PATHWAYS TO ADMISSION
Admission to the CCP program will be granted to the student who satisfies the guidelines of either pathway below.
1) Satisfy Traditional Admission Requirements
2.50 Cumulative HS GPA + one of the following assessment scores:
a. 18 ACT Composite,
b. 960 SAT,
c. or ONE of the following Accuplacer scores:
250 Reading
263 Writing
263 QAS (Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics)
2) Satisfy AU Test Optional Admission Requirements
a. 3.0 Unweighted Cumulative HS GPA or higher, --OR--
b. 2.85 – 2.99 GPA with grades of “A” or “B” in relevant high school courses.
Relevant high school courses are the core areas of math, English, science, AND social studies.
Admission to the program does not guarantee placement in any course. Students must be able to meet all placement and prerequisite guidelines.
A middle school or junior high student who does not have a GPA available will not be admitted to the program, unless the student possesses one of the assessment scores listed in Pathway #1. In addition to the proper assessment scores, middle school and junior high students must have only A's and B's in relevant coursework (math, English, science, AND social studies).
Local school district policy determines when a middle school or junior high student who completes a high school course is assigned a certified HS GPA, not Ashland University.
It may not be necessary to submit Accuplacer or ACT scores to participate in AU's CCP program, as we are "test optional" for 2022-23. This means you will be accepted to the program if your unweighted high school GPA is 3.0 or above. Not having ACT or Accuplacer scores may limit your course selection, as all students must be able to satisfy placement and prequisite requirements for each course. (Courses such as math and English require certain ACT/Accuplacer scores for enrollment.)
If you do not qualify for test optional admission, you may sign up to take the Accuplacer on our main campus through the end of April 2022 for free:

We will accept Accuplacer scores from another college if you have them. Please have your school counselor send your score report to au-transcripts@ashland.edu.

Credit earned through a recognized accredited college or university will be accepted at Ashland University as long as the credit earned is "C-" or better. The grade that will appear on student records is a “K” and has no impact on your Ashland University cumulative GPA. Credits will be awarded for specific Ashland University courses when transferable credits are for equivalent courses. When the transferable courses do not have Ashland University equivalents, credits will be awarded as 'elective' credits. [...] A candidate for a degree must take a minimum of 30 semester hours at Ashland University. The last 12 hours of coursework and at least one half of the student's work in his or her major field must be taken at AU.
