Interested in joining a fraternity or sorority?

All students who show interest in fraternity or sorority membership are encouraged to participate in the recruitment process. Fraternity recruitment is two weeks of scheduled events where men have the opportunity to meet with each chapter. Sorority formal recruitment is a weekend program which allows interested women to meet all of the respective chapters and learn more about what each has to offer the campus.

Not sure if Fraternity & Sorority life is for you?

That's okay! Simply participating in the recruitment process does not enter students into an agreement or contract. Participating in recruitment is a great way to get to know many new people, and learn more about the community along the way! You can always track what Ashland University's FSL community is doing on Facebook at Ashland University Fraternity & Sorority Life or on Twitter at AU_FSL.

Fraternity Recruitment

Fraternity recruitment is a relaxed atmosphere in which interested men visit with each of the fraternity chapters to learn more about chapter values and activities, while also getting the opportunity to simply get to know some of the fraternity men. Learning more about each of the chapters helps the interested men identify what they are hoping to gain from a fraternity experience. To participate in fraternity recruitment, interested men should sign-up online at www.ashland.edu/FraternityRecruitment

Sorority Recruitment

Sorority recruitment is a structured process facilitated by the Panhellenic Council, the governing body of all sororities. Once registered for recruitment, interested women will be placed in a color group that they will be apart of for the duration of the recruitment process. Each color group is led by a group of Panhellenic women called Recruitment Guides. These women temporarily disassociate from their sororities in order to be a resource to interested women by providing unbiased guidance and to field questions about recruitment or sorority life.

Sorority recruitment is a mutual selection process in which the interested women discover which chapter would be a potential fit for them while the chapters identify which of the interested women would make a great addition to their organization.

To participate in sorority recruitment, interested women must sign-up online at www.ashland.edu/SororityRecruitment

General Information

Fraternity recruitment happens year round, but a specific two week recruitment period will be held September 13-25, 2021. Sorority formal recruitment is September 15-19, 2021. Most recruitment activities take place in the evening to work around class schedules or athletic practices.

Any undergraduate student who is enrolled in Ashland University at full-time status is eligible for membership. Although there is no G.P.A. requirement to participate in recruitment, each chapter has set a required G.P.A. (ranging from a 2.2 to a 2.8) for members. Exceptions are made at the chapter's discretion.
