ASSESSMENT 101 IN THE PBL CLASSROOM: ASSESSING THROUGHOUT A PROJECT

Topic: Curriculum and Instruction
Instructor: Teresa Dempsey
Method: Online (OWRK)
Sponsor: AU Columbus Center
Center Offered: CPD

Course Description:

Assessment in the PBL classroom is daunting for most teachers. This breakthrough asynchronous online course will explore how teachers create and use assessment throughout project-based learning, and not simply view assessment as just a final product. Various forms of formative assessment will be explored as well as tools to use when teaching PBL remotely. It is important to bring a PBL unit idea (with a driving question and final product) to this online workshop so participants can receive support in developing an assessment plan for their PBL unit that measures student growth in content and success skills.
