Center Offered: OLPD

Course Description:

This course focuses on Assessment and Evaluation and includes 5 lessons: Using Student Data, Disaggregating, Organizing and Reporting Data, Principles of Fair Student Assessment, Formative & Summative Assessments and Evaluation. In todays schools, you clearly must know the basics of student achievement data and how to disaggregate. However, you must ensure that assessment, evaluation and reporting are valid and reliable, that they lead to the improvement of learning for all students, and that all students are able to demonstrate their learning regardless of their socioeconomic status, ethnicity, gender, geographic location, learning style, and/or need for special services. Finally, effective evaluation must accurately summarize and communicate to parents, other teachers, institutions of further education, and students themselves what the students know and can do with respect to the overall curriculum expectations.
