Course Description:

This professional development course equips educators with the content knowledge, instructional strategies, and technical skills needed to effectively teach the first half of PLTW Aerospace Engineering. Participants explore fundamental concepts in aerodynamics, flight physics, airfoil design, and propulsion through hands-on, project-based learning. Using PLTW’s curricular framework and digital tools—including modeling software, simulations, and assessment platforms—educators gain confidence in facilitating student-centered, inquiry-driven aerospace learning. The training emphasizes both technical proficiency and classroom implementation strategies to ensure successful integration of PLTW Aerospace Engineering Part I into the secondary STEM curriculum.

Ashland University is proud to partner with Project Lead The Way to offer graduate credit for their outstanding professional development experiences. We are excited to support educators who engage with PLTW’s high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities by providing the option to earn Ashland graduate credit upon successful completion.

To be eligible for graduate credit, participants must complete all required coursework through PLTW and submit a copy of their official completion certificate to cbasinge@ashland.edu.
