Visible Learning for Literacy: Implementing the Practices That Work Best to Acce
Course Description:
This course is designed to help practicing educators understand how to make learning “visible” to both the student and the teacher. Educators will learn the literacy practices that ensure students demonstrate more than a year’s worth of learning for a year spend in school. The course is a study of the book, “Visible Learning for Literacy,” written by Doug Fisher, Nancy Frey, and John Hattie. The book was published by Corwin Literacy in 2016. Each participant will need to purchase or have access to the book. Each module has a reflection paper and discussion board posts as assignments. The students will also complete an implementation plan document and a full written implementation plan. The course requires 36 hours of work online, outside reading and course products.
