Positive Behavior Support II
Course Description:
This workshop provides an overview of the brain-based learning process, methods to enhance memory development and usage, and general processing disorders that hinder academics and behavior but often go unrecognized by professionals. Conditions to be examined include: Visual, Auditory, and Sensory Processing Disorders as well as Dyscalculia (Math), Dysgraphia (Writing), Reading Disorder, and other learning barriers unique to gifted populations.
By the end of this workshop, participants will understand how the brain learns and constructs memory, be able to use techniques to improve learning speed and retention, recognize signs of learning and processing problems, and be able to create general intervention strategies to reduce or remove learning barriers for students in grades PreK to 12th grade.
NOTE: This workshop uses a Create-Your-Own-Professional-Development format. Participants will select specific content modules that reflect their interests, needs, and desired number of credit hours (one, two, and three credits available). Four modules equal one credit hour.
