Project Based Learning (PBL) & AI Part 1

Project-based learning invites facilitators to make deliberate choices: about the problems worth investigating, the questions worth asking, and the kind of learning worth designing for. This first course in the three-part PBL and AI series asks what those choices look like now, at a moment when AI tools are available at every stage of the design process and the risk of using them uncritically is real. Across three modules, educators establish what responsible AI partnership looks like in their specific context, develop a clear view of the full arc of a PBL experience, and move into the part of the process that anchors everything: the challenge itself. Participants will examine what makes a problem worth investigating, practice using AI to surface and sharpen driving questions, and build the critical awareness needed to distinguish between AI as a generative thinking partner and AI as a shortcut that bypasses the human judgment that makes a challenge meaningful to real learners in a real community. By the end of this course, facilitators will have the foundational mindsets, responsible AI habits, and a challenge grounded in authentic inquiry to carry into the work ahead.

HOW TO ACCESS YOUR COURSE MATERIALS

Within 1-2 business days of your Ashland registration, you will receive an email from your course content provider, Ed3, containing instructions on how to access your course materials. If you do not see an email within 48 hrs, please check your junk or spam folders.
You will be working with Ed3, through their Learning Management System, to complete the course, after which, you will receive your completion certificate via email, and AU will record this on your transcript.  We will notify you by email once this is done, with instructions on how to view and order transcripts.
