Social Emotional Learning (SEL) & AI Part 2
Course Description:
Social-emotional learning doesn't have a single practice. It occurs when a learner sets a goal they actually believe in, navigates a conflict without shutting down, makes a choice that considers someone else's perspective. The five CASEL competencies describe real capacities that develop through practice, and this course is where you design that practice. This second course in the SEL and AI series moves through all five CASEL competencies, with each module pairing conceptual grounding with hands-on AI design work. Educators will learn AI prompting skills and use AI to build strategies that develop self-awareness and self-management in learners, create empathy tools and collaborative learning structures that strengthen social awareness and relationship skills, and design scaffolds that give learners real practice in responsible decision-making. By the end of this course, participants will have a better understanding of the CASEL competencies, and AI will feel like a genuine design partner for their SEL work: a tool that helps them build classroom experiences specific to their learners, responsive to their context, and grounded in their professional expertise.
