Course Description:

The Phonics Fundamental course will focus around Science of Reading but rather than a broad scope of SoR, like the Phonics course, this course will equip educators with phonological and morphological underpinnings of English. We will explore evidence based programs that are used in districts around Ohio that tie into phonemic awareness, decoding (decodable books), and word recognition. This course emphasizes practical application, including assessments and instructing students in decoding and spelling, ensuring alignment with Ohio's SoR requirements.
