This conference or convention and follow-up course will be determined by the conference or convention activities and include examining the role of Proficiency-Based Instruction that drives the fundamental aspects of world language instruction. Participants will examine the theory and research that informs proficiency-based instructional practices focusing on input and interaction, as well as dig deeper into the strategies presented in the conference or convention sessions. The course readings, videos, journals and discussions will allow students to relate each strategy to their own curriculum and create work products that they can implement in their classroom. Conducted in English for teachers of all languages.

Course Time Frame

The hybrid course is divided into the conference or convention attendance followed by the submission of coursework. Coursework may be submitted up to three months following the conference or convention.

All Idioma courses receive letter grades.

HOW TO ACCESS YOUR COURSE MATERIALS: 

Within 1-2 business days of your Ashland registration, you will receive an email from your course content provider, Idioma, containing instructions on how to access your course materials. A note, their emails are sometimes forwarded to junk or spam folders. 

You will be working with Idioma, through their Learning Management System, to complete the course, after which, your instructor will record your grade on your AU transcript. We will notify you by email once this is done, with instructions on how to view and order transcripts.
