Navigating Behavior Path
Course Description:
Registration with OCALI is required prior to registering for Ashland credit.
Navigating Behavior Pathways is a comprehensive, team-based professional development course designed to help educational teams effectively support autistic students who exhibit contextually inappropriate or complex behaviors. The training focuses on understanding the factors that influence student behavior and using a systematic Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) process to identify appropriate supports. Participants learn to assess and modify learning environments, leverage student strengths, and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) using evidence-based practices that promote academic, social, and emotional growth. Through collaboration, coaching, and technical assistance, educators gain practical strategies for increasing student engagement, participation, and success across educational settings.
